Recommended Itinerary for one week
(West Ligurian Riviera)
with boarding in Genoa
You sail from the Old Port and head West.
Direct navigation to the Marina di Varazze, where you can moor in the modern tourist port, or in the characteristic Darsena of Savona. A delightful little marina nestled in the heart of the city with numerous restaurants and bars surrounding, which will cheer up the rest. Continuing for another 8 MN, you reach the spectacular limestone cliffs overlooking the sea of Capo Noli where a stop in a bay opposite the Saraceni bay, east of Punta Crena, with the beautiful turquoise color of the waters lapping the white sand of the beach.
Another 7 MN of navigation and you reach the Port of Loano, modern marina well sheltered and equipped. To reach a sheltered harbour it is good to continue to the Island of Gallinara where, depending on weather conditions, you can anchor in the north-west or north-east side of the island. The descent to land is for the moment forbidden, but we hope in possible next guided visits of the islands, small pearl of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente. Another possibility of mooring in the harbour, not recommended for the night, is the north side of Capo Mele on a beautiful white sand bottom, opposite the pretty village of Laigueglia.
With favorable weather and based on the experiences of navigation of the crew it is possible to continue up to the ports of Alassio, Andora, Imperia, Sanremo, Ventimiglia and beyond to the French Riviera.
Always evaluate the favourable weather conditions for an easy return in the opposite direction, faster cutting the gulf with navigation off to Genoa.
